The Ranchlands Book Project
For the past year, I have been photographing the Philips family, here in Colorado. They have been ranching for some five generations now, and manage several ranches across three states. They have called their ranch management company Ranchlands. They are unique in that they use ranching as a means of conservation to keep the land healthy by incorporating a model that includes traditional methods while embracing modern methods to ensure they have a future in agriculture. They are a truly amazing group of hard working people, and I am honored to be able to follow them about and from time to time, pitch in a little. As I am entering the second year of shooting with the Ranchlands crew, I suppose this is a good time to let people know what this is all about. At the end of the two years, I will be publishing a photo documentary book of my time on the ranch. Keep up with my progress here and enjoy some of the images that will potentially be in the finished product. Stay tuned to this page for progress updates in the future.
